The Executioner’s Tale
Dates: Sat 14 to Fri 20 October
Step back in time to the turbulent medieval era of Scotland as you encounter “The Executioner.” Clad in black and wielding his grim tools, he shares chilling stories of crime and punishment. Learn about the gruesome penalties for various offenses but reserve your shivers for the bloodiest punishment of all: treason! This historical re-enactment will send shivers down your spine as you gain insight into Scotland’s dark past.

The Castle is adorned with a myriad of shields, each with its own unique story. Join us to unravel the fascinating world of Heraldry, the secret language of shields. Creepy Castle Capers Weekend

On October 28 and 29, the castle comes alive with the spirit of Halloween during the Creepy Castle Capers weekend. Our castle guides, donned in spectacular period costumes, will regale you with eerie tales and curious histories within the Great Hall and Laich Hall. Children can partake in colouring and activities throughout the day, and don’t miss the autumnal beauty of the Great Hall, adorned with pumpkins galore, the perfect place to take Halloween selfies!
