A Castle for all Occasions

Once heralded for its ability to keep people out, these days Edinburgh Castle does a pretty good job of welcoming people in.

Over a million visitors now cross our drawbridge each year to relive the castles turbulent but fascinating history.  Thankfully the castle is now a friendlier place with the only sound of fire coming from the famous One o’Clock gun.

 

Over the years we’ve hosted countless banquets, film shoots and even romantic fairy tale weddings.

This summer Jessie J, Runrig and “The Modfather” himself Paul Weller will all play on the castles esplanade before we once again welcome back the spectacular Edinburgh Military Tattoo in August.

There is always something going on at the castle.  Over the next few weeks we will be going behind the scenes to bring you closer to the action and introduce you to the team who make Edinburgh Castle the UK’s number one heritage attraction.
