Capturing the Castle

It’s all about photography this week as our spotlight turns to Santi, Historic Scotland’s very own in-house photographer and filmmaker. Santi has the daunting task of covering all of our historic attractions, from Jarlshof Prehistoric Settlement in Shetland to Caerlaverock Castle in Dumfries & Galloway and everything in-between. 

As you’ll see from the images below, Santi’s work can be extremely varied as he works with numerous teams across Historic Scotland. One week he can be cataloguing Edinburgh and Glasgow’s listed pubs (now there’s a job) and the next  he’ll be up at Edinburgh Castle capturing a Jacobite soldier during one of our public performances in the Great Hall.
